Safety and Crisis Protocol

— Emergency Notice —

If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you are thinking about suicide or harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) at any time.

The AI coach in our programs is software, not a person. It is not a doctor, dietitian or therapist, and it does not provide mental health care. This page explains what it does when a member may be at risk.

01

What the AI coach watches for

Messages that suggest thoughts of suicide or self-harm, signs of an eating disorder, or a medical emergency.

02

What it does

It stops coaching on that topic. It shows crisis resources, including 988 and 911. It reminds the member that it is an AI. Where the member's program has a care team, it alerts that care team. It does not counsel, diagnose or try to manage the situation itself.

03

Medical warning signs

Severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration, an allergic reaction and similar symptoms are never coached. The member is told to contact the prescriber or call 911.
